Many photos of my work feature the caption, “pure analogue”.
This is meant only to be a reminder that with newer techniques and technologies available to dentistry, previously established techniques and materials when applied without shortcuts, in planned execution, can produce outstanding outcomes. I have taught these types of techniques to interested individuals, laboratory and study groups throughout North America with success over the last 22 years, and have practiced them in my own laboratory over a 37-year career.

A lost art in clinical dentistry. Guide planes are incorporated into the terminal abutment teeth on a bilateral free end treatment with a partial denture. Guide planes increase both the stability of the denture and resistance to lateral movement. Guide planes also protect the abutments from displacement during insertion and removal of the denture. As a lab, I offer preconstructed jigs which aid in the parallelism of the planes aiding the dentist in the pitfalls of free hand preparation.
