Repairs are an eventual part of servicing treatment. Patients and dentists who work with me understand that a cold cure repair is just a temporary fix. This case comes with a request to repair with the understanding that it’s a step to the definitive repair.
The definitive repair would involve a heat cured reline and the introduction of a silanated polyaramid fiber mesh.
Although this set of photos portray a temporary repair, I still incorporate fibered mesh. This will hold the patient until they have the resources of time and monetary commitment for the definitive repair. Dentists should explain the differences in temporary and definitive repairs and the long-term results of each.
