Just a helpful tip
Many dentists I have worked with over the years use a tissue conditioner to perform reline impressions. A functional reline where the patient may wear the denture for a week or more before surrendering it to be relined.
If you’re a laboratory working with this type of reline it is imperative that you remove not only the liner but also what I call the transitional layer of the base acrylic. The transitional layer is base acrylic which has been affected by the plasticizers present in tissue conditioning liners. If not fully removed, once the new reline is performed the plasticizer could possibly begin to soften the denture from the inside, out. This could possibly explain why a recently relined denture fractures prematurely.
