Many labs construct bite blocks using conventional baseplate wax or even scraps from the sheets with no regard concerning properties that would provide an ideal platform for a stabilized bite registration. I use a wax that is manufactured with ideal properties that allow for great indexing and support during the registration procedure. It costs a bit more but if my accounts are willing to spend the time, I feel I should provide a product specific to the procedure. My philosophies come from a formal dental laboratory education and the practice of that education.
