I wanted to illustrate the importance of a correctly prepared bar. As I stripped this bar, I am servicing, I noticed opaque adhered to the acrylic and NOT the bar, a dead giveaway that the bar was definitely not prepared to receive the opaque. These are the kind of things that misrepresent acrylic wrap around bars as being a viable modality of treatment. When performed correctly and with planning they are a great treatment option. And as this photo illustrates the options for servicing the costliest part of the prosthetic, the bar can easily be performed once the acrylic has been worn out past its usable purpose. Useable purpose can be extended by using the highest/best techniques. I have also found that how well an appliance serves a patient is in direct relation to how well the patient and DDS adhere to recall protocol.
Another example of how I can help your lab or practice to deliver a better product.
