Attachments, details to preserve accuracy.

Time to process. There are some small things to attend to before packing the mandibular part of the case worth mentioning. The housings are placed on the master using the centering ring (C). Then, since the location of the housings are so close to the surface, I place a drop of opaque on the top of them (A). I really don’t prepare the surface as acrylic will just be overlayed on them. Retention of the housings comes from the undercut shape. Lastly, I seal the periphery of the housing at the interface of the model (B). This prevents any acrylic from flashing under the attachment. I do many preventative things like this to prevent surprises that would rob time from my workflow and preserve accuracy.
