Patients Deserve Our Best

Just another example of the colorization effects of pre-process coloring of the denture base. Since it’s done prior to packing the mold while the acrylic is reaching its correct state to pack, there is no wasted movement.
Colorization is subtle and appropriate to the contours. Many over-colorize in an attempt to emphasize their ability to colorize but lose track and overdo it.
The colors are meant to provide icing on the cake and not necessarily assure a case success. The success is from esthetic and functional placement of the teeth.
Shown are the New Stetic colorants/shades I recommend.

When technicians oppose the colorization, usually because they are not able to do it they will say it only serves people with high smile lines, my response is this:

Colorization plays mostly to what I call subliminal acceptance by the patient. Its what they see in comparison to what they didn’t have vs what is now provided with character. This comparison occurs at home, in private. Its just another way to provide patient confidence in what they are wearing. In the 8 years I participated chairside it was a regular occurrence that patients on post-delivery recall made the comment on how natural or nicely different a colorized “gum” looked. Conversely, if the case didn’t function properly or have an esthetic tooth placement all the color in the world couldn’t remedy that. Remember the base is exposed every time they clean it.
