It was only after I realized the impact of the web that I had my greatest degree of marketing success. I’m not talking about web pages, although they are a great referral destination to further introduce yourself to potential clients. I found that the largest ‘study club” with the greatest number of potential clients is on internet dental forums and specifically Dentaltown and LinkedIn.
The strategy isn’t to barge in and announce yourself, but rather, peruse the forums and look for questions dentists are posing and offer your insight into an answer or remedy. You would be surprised how much interest in you an articulate well thought out answer with a photo to illustrate a point can provoke. I built an entire mail order business this way, and I am a one-man lab. As you get cases under your belt and begin to photo document them you can then use other tools such case presentations exampling your success with other practices. Web 2.0 strategies now make web-based marketing a reality, its inexpensive, do it in your evening hours, and you can cover a lot of ground without leaving the lab.
