If you follow my postings around the internet, I am constantly emphasizing techno-clinical communication, which in my experience fosters collegiality between both sides of the chair as we work for the common goal of successful patient treatment outcomes.
Today was a great example using texts between an account and myself worthy of posting.
This client like several I service realizes that my strength as a dental technician/laboratory not only comes from my fabrication skills, but also from an understanding in the nuances of removable prosthetic treatment from the clinical side as well.
My view has always been that a technician’s value is 2-part. This probably comes from the fact that I entered dental technology through a formal education pathway. I was probably also affected by my experience as an in-house technician straight out of school, while building my business in the back lab of a dental practice. It gave me an empathetic understanding of the challenges faced at chairside and the limitations of time facing the practitioner. This plays well into the “answer man” mindset I have always possessed and is illustrated here.
It also serves me well as a laboratory consultant and speaker.
I guess the message here is to embrace clients who seek your input and uncover to and develop others who do not, into embracing your abilities.
I hope that 2026 proves to be an outstanding year for you, and family in health and prosperity.
