Time fly’s when you’re having fun

Here a throwback.
I am working on this year’s presentation content and have been perusing a TB and a half of drive files I have saved over the years looking for things to jostle my brain a bit. I opened an old presentation “Challenge the Ordinary” from 2006(my 3rd year presenting) and found my old bio picture and the intro slide.
The arch on the right is when I used porcelain teeth on almost every case for that particular dentist. I would buy 2 sets of teeth, the called for shade, and 1 shade darker. This was to portray the natural darkness of the cuspids over the centrals and laterals. If it was a special case, I would get a set lighter and use a brighter lateral. Over time porcelain teeth got more expensive and it became cost prohibitive to buy 3 sets because the manufacturer wouldn’t take back the teeth for full credit. For a time, I tried using VMK68 porcelain stains and air fire them with an old Ney Mark 3 oven. Eventually it fell out of favor also.
I was doing the basic internal coloring using the old Kay-See Dental Kayon denture stains back then. I don’t believe they are around anymore. I also did my stippling in the wax before I realized there were better ways to do it.
Looking at those old files stirred me the way I expected. I am blessed to have had the foresight to save and resave those old files, many were converted from film, then to CD disk, and eventually all to HDD.
Anyway, just a story..
